Demarest e Almeida has a "Korean Desk" to meet the growing volume of business with Korean investors and provide legal services in a simple and integrated manner aiming at mitigating any language and culture difficulties they may face in doing business with Brazil. Thus, the Korean Desk is responsible for serving customers nationally and internationally in their transactions in Brazil.


All team professionals are fluent in at least two foreign languages, five of them are fluent in Korean, and most of them have lived abroad either to obtain their master's degree or to work as trainees at foreign law firms. All this expertise results in a greater capacity to understand and solve legal problems and transactions involving foreign parties.

This department is headed by our partner Mário Roberto Villanova Nogueira, who oversees special projects. Demarest e Almeida also counts on with its special advisor, Professor Hee Moon Jo, who has practiced law in Brazil and is currently a Professor of the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, located in Seoul.

Demarest e Almeida is also a legal advisor for KOTRA (Korean Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) and the Korean Embassy in Brazil.
