This practice area of Demarest e Almeida is composed of 25 professionals. Some of them are from other practice areas, like tax and corporate, being all trained to work in multidisciplinary teams, and to develop their creativity and entrepreneurial ability when applying the law.
Most of the area's professionals have acquired specialized knowledge in Brazil or abroad, by either being members of the board of directors of the Insurance Supervisor (Superintendência de Seguros Privados - SUSEP), working for insurance companies in Brazil or abroad, acquiring LL.M. degrees or getting their licenses as insurance brokers. This results in an enhanced capacity to understand and resolve legal problems involving foreign parties and transactions related to virtually any issue in the insurance and reinsurance practice area.
Demarest e Almeida has been active in counseling insurance and reinsurance companies and brokers in claims handling processes.
