Demarest e Almeida has a team of well-prepared and skilled attorneys in International Trade, graduated from foreign universities and with participation in internship programs linked to the World Trade Organization.

Among the Department's activities, the following stand out:

  • Consulting and court litigation involving customs, such as tax classification, customs valuation, special customs regimes, and import licensing;

  • Trade defense measures: anti-dumping, safeguards and countervailing measures (subsidies);

  • International treaties: analysis of matters related to international trade, including those referring to rules of origin, tariff preference system and system of quotas, among others;

  • International negotiations: monitoring of international negotiations and client's support in their relations with Brazilian authorities;  

  • Trade barriers: advice on, and analysis of, tariff and non-tariff barriers, such as technical barriers, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, and quantitative limits.
