Demarest e Almeida's expertise in the Regulation area has increased since the privatization of several state-owned segments in the early '90's.  A team formed by several strategic sectors of our firm is kept constantly updated to provide counseling on regulatory aspects in telecommunications, water and sanitation, electric power, transportation, oil and gas, and mining.

Our Regulation Department uses its expertise to:

• Assist our clients in corporate transactions and restructuring, mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures of corporations in these areas, including due diligence reviews, negotiations and drafting of agreements;
• Advise and negotiate projects involving public bids, concessions and Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs);
• Obtain licenses from governmental and regulatory agencies, including certification of products and equipment and contracting-out of infrastructure.
