Foreign Trade Secretariat initiates review of antidumping duty on Brazilian imports of other light-weight coated paper from Germany, Belgium, Canada, the United States, Finland and Sweden

Today Brazil initiated the sunset review on the AD measure applied to Brazilian imports of light-weight coated paper, commonly classified under MCN code 4810.22.90, originating from Germany, Belgium, Canada, USA, Finland and Sweden. The investigated product is mainly used for printing magazines, catalogs and publicity materials, such as inserts and tabloids.

The Petitioner of the investigation is B.O. Paper Brasil Indústria de Papéis Ltda. (B.O. Paper), successor of Stora Enso Arapoti Indústria Of Papel S.A.

The Brazilian government does not publish the name of the investigated companies. However, for your information, these are some of the producers/exporters identified in the original investigation:

  • USA: Evergreen Packaging Inc;
  • Finland: UPM-Kymmene Corporation, Stora Enso Oyj, Sappi Finland I Oy.;
  • Germany: Stora Enso Kabel GmbH,  Norske Skog Walsum GmbH; and
  • Belgium: Sappi Lanaken N.V.

The main producers and exporters already identified by the Brazilian government must answer the questionnaire in 30 days while producers and exporters not identified by the Brazilian government should request such qualification within 20 days as of today, indicating their representatives.
