National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) announces the signing of the Open Skies Agreement with the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Luxembourg

Shortly after having entered into force the Open-Skies Agreement between Brazil and the United States, Brazil has just concluded three new agreements with European countries. Last week, the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) announced that the negotiations with the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Luxembourg were concluded, aiming to eliminate the maximum limit flight between Brazil and the signatory countries.

The measure represents another important step towards aligning Brazil with the current international practices and, in this sense, increase the free competition among companies in the sector, which will certainly stimulate the growth of the Brazilian's air market, allowing the entry of new investments and players (mainly low cost companies).

The agreement's approval, which still needs to follow all the necessary procedures in the National Congress, tends to also facilitate the operation of the companies that already operate in Brazil, since they may increase the frequency of their flights, making the offer of Brazilian – European flights even more competitive.
