China initiated an antidumping investigation on chicken products imported from Brazil

Today China initiated an antidumping investigation on chicken products imported from Brazil.

The product under investigation is broiler products or chicken products, classified under the following items of the Chinese tariff code: 0207.11.00, 0207.12.00, 0207.13.11, 0207.13.19, 0207.13.21, 0207.13.29, 0207.14.11, 0207.14.19, 0207.14.21, 0207.14.22.

The period of investigation for dumping is from April 1st, 2016, to March 31, 2017. The period of investigation for the analysis of injury caused to the Chinese domestic industry is from January 1st, 2013, to March 31, 2017. The alleged dumping margin is of 40.72%

In a press release, the Ministry of Commerce of China (MOFCOM) informed that, in 2016, the Brazilian imports added up to US$ 1.05 billion. Additionally, MOFCOM listed 27 Brazilian companies as interested parties in the investigation.

The companies that wish to participate in the investigation shall request qualification with MOFCOM within 20 days from today, August 18.
