Employers’ Union Dues Remain Optional for Companies Without Union Membership

Dear Clients,

We kindly remind you that since the enactment of Law No. 13,467/2017 (“Labor Reform”) valid as from November 2017, the employers’ union dues – which were traditionally paid by companies to the employers’ union in January of each year – became optional to companies not associated to such employers’ unions, and which do not have court orders obliging them to pay such dues.

Companies that wish to make such payment can do so by the end of this month through the collection forms issued by the Federal Savings Bank (Caixa Econômica Federal’s) website, or through those issued directly by the union.

We are at your disposal for further clarification and to assist you in any necessary procedure.
