MME defines schedules of Power Purchase Auction from New and Existing Generation Enterprises

The Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) defined the schedule for public auctions geared for the purchase and sale of electric energy until 2021. Decrees 151/2019 and 152/2019 establish the fair agenda for contracting new enterprises and existing projects, respectively.

In relation to New Venture Auctions, an A-4 energy auction will be held on June 27, 2019, commencing energy supply in 2023, while an A-6 auction will take place on September 26, with the commencement of supply in 2025.

In 2020, the A-4 type auction will be carried out on April 23, with energy supply starting from 2024, while Auction A-6, for supply in 2026, will occur on September 24.

Finally, in 2021, A-4 auctions with start-up in 2025, and A-6 auctions, with supply starting in 2027, will be held on April 29 and September 30, respectively.

Regarding the Auctions for Purchase of Electric Electricity from Existing Generation Projects, auctions A-1, A-2 will be carried out on December 6, 2019, while in 2020 the auctions are estimated to be held on December 4, and in 2021 both auctions will be held on December 3.
