Partner of Demarest’s Tax area, Antonio Carlos Gonçalves holds a postgraduate degree in Tax Law from IBET, with specialization in Government Relations and Public and Regulatory Law. He concentrates his practice in assisting companies in the Brazilian market in litigious proceedings in the Federal Capital, especially those in course before the Federal Supreme Court, the Superior Court of Justice and the Federal Regional Court of the 1st Region. Carlos also advises companies before the Ministries, the Attorney General of the National Treasury, the Regulatory Agencies, the Federal Audit Court and the Administrative Council of Tax Appeals (CARF). He is a consultant at Rádio Justiça of the Federal Supreme Court, where he broadcasts and give live commentary on the plenary sessions of the Court.

— Advised a company in the electronics sector in obtaining a final decision at the Supreme Court to release the taxpayer from paying ICMS Difal to the Federal District in the event that goods purchased by consumers who are not taxpayers are delivered to other states of the federation.
— Advised an insurance company on the mapping of existing bills in the National Congress that could immediately affect the segment’s taxation through federal taxes, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic period.
