Partner of the Demarest’s Energy area, Raphael Gomes has a Bachelor’s Degree by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ and a Post-Graduation’s Degree in Corporate Law with specializations in Regulatory Law of Electric Energy and Civil Procedural Law by Getúlio Vargas Foundation – FGV-RJ. Specialized in regulatory matters in both the Free Contracting Environment (ACL) and the Regulated Contracting Environment (ACR). He has broad experience in litigation and advisory issues involving Generators, Distributors, Transmitters, Free Consumers, Regulatory Agency and Granting Authority.
Raphael was a visiting Professor for courses at the Law School of the Brazilian Bar Association (ESA-OAB/SP), the Brazilian Institute of Energy Law Studies (IBDE), the Institute for Advanced Law Studies (IAED/MG) and the National School of Magistracy. He began his career in the electric sector at Endesa Group, in which he worked in the areas of generation, commercialization, import and export of energy. For 7 years, he held the position of Regulatory Legal Manager at the Electric Energy Trading Chamber – CCEE.

— Advised a large energy consumer of the iron-alloys segment, in the acquisition of Wind Power Plant in the amount of R$ 811.7 million
— Advised EnergyBras in Administrative Procedure for the authorization of solar projects in Public Auction promoted by ANEEL in the amount of R$ 153 million
— Advised ECOGEN in the acquisition of Light ESCO, in operation with estimated value of R $ 43.4 million
— Advised Cobra Brasil in the sale to AES Tietê of 5 photovoltaic parks in the State of São Paulo, with a value of R$ 650 million
