Partner in Demarest’s M&A and Corporate practice areas, Min Gon Kim holds a master’s degree (LLM) in Corporate Law from Columbia University (NY/USA), a postgraduate degree in Corporate Law from FGV-SP and a bachelor's degree in Law from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. During his time in the US, Min acted as a foreign associate in the Miami office of Holland & Knight LLP as well as in the Seoul office of Kim & Chang. Min has recently worked as a visiting lawyer at Carey Abogados in Santiago, Chile. He concentrates his practice in the corporate area, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, joint ventures, cross-border operations and corporate restructuring. Among his main clients are Brazilian and international companies from various economic sectors. Min has been elected and appointed by Chamber Global as a leading lawyer in the area of Corporate Law and Mergers and Acquisitions, as well as a foreign specialist in Brazil in the area of Corporate Law and Mergers and Acquisitions.

  • Advised Ser Educacional S.A on five (5) different M&A transactions and corporate restructuring for the acquisition of 100% ownership of diverse universities all headquartered in Brazil.
  • Advised CJ Cheiljedang Corporporation and CJ Latam Participações in the acquisition of Corpesca do Brasil Empreendimentos e Participações Ltda.’s totality of shares held in CJ Selecta S.A., for USD 40 million.
  • Advised Seegene Inc. on an investment to be made in Innovare Diagnósticos e Representações Ltda. - ME, through the subscription of 7,750,000 new shares, representing a total of 97.98% of the share capital, for a total amount of approximately BRL 7.75 million.
  • Advised STIC CJ Global Investment Corporate Partnership Fund and CJ Cheiljedang Corporation in the negotiation and acquisition of 90% of Sementes Selecta S.A., involving USD 321 million.
  • Advised Ball Corporation in the reorganization of its Brazilian businesses, resulting from the acquisition of Rexam and the sale of BRL 3 billion of the Brazilian subsidiary of Ball Latas do Brasil to the Ardagh Group.
  • Advised Seoyon Intech Co. Ltd. in the negotiation and acquisition of the totality of the shares of Injeplastic Injection and Comercialização de Plásticos Ltda., And consequent assumption of all liabilities/obligations, involving USD 220 million.
