Demarest rounds off 2023 with the hiring of one more partner for its Mergers and Acquisitions practice

Julia Visconti and three other professionals will reinforce the firm’s practice in domestic and international transactions

Demarest closed 2023 with another hire for the areas of Mergers and Acquisitions, Listed Companies and Capital Markets, announcing today the arrival of Julia Visconti at the firm, with a team of three associates.

Julia holds a master’s degree (LLM) in Corporate Governance & Practice from Stanford Law School, USA, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP) and a postgraduate degree in Corporate Law from the same institution.

Julia is a specialist in M&A operations and capital markets, with experience in transactions involving listed companies, joint ventures, private equity and venture capital, representing local and international companies from different sectors in domestic and cross-border transactions, as well as having worked prominently in the segments of education, energy and technology.

Paulo Coelho da Rocha, managing partner at Demarest, believes that the arrival of the new partner further attests to the firm’s strength in the market.

“We reached the end of 2023, the year that marks Demarest’s 75th anniversary, with the hiring of 10 new partners and 14 associates to increase the firm’s strength in 8 different practice areas, in addition to the promotion of 5 senior associates to the partnership as of January. This strong expansion is aligned with our upcoming strategic plan for the three-year period from 2024 to 2026.
