Demarest hires three new partners

Maiara Madureira, Paula Magalhães and Luiz Felipe Eustaquio, new partners of Demarest

Nine professionals will bolster the firm’s Listed Companies, Capital Markets, and Mergers and Acquisitions practice areas

Aiming to strengthen its offerings to Listed Companies, its Capital Markets and M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions) practice, Demarest Advogados has announced the hiring of partners Paula Magalhães, Maiara Madureira and Luiz Felipe Eustaquio.

Paula holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP) and has 23 years of experience in the legal market, concentrating her practice in listed companies, OPAs (takeover bids), IPOs (initial public offerings) and follow-ons, among other matters within the scope of the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) and Brazil’s Stock Exchange (B3 S.A.). – Brasil, Bolsa, Balcão (B3).

Maiara holds a bachelor’s degree in Law and a master’s degree in Commercial Law from the University of São Paulo (USP). As a Commercial Law specialist, she was the head of B3’s regulation and monitoring of issuers for seven years, where she played a key role in major projects such as the New “Novo Mercado” Regulation, the Corporate Governance Code for Listed Companies, and the State-Owned Governance Highlight Program. What is more, she serves as a professor at the Brazilian Institute for Corporate Governance (IGBC).

Luiz Felipe holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (PUC-PR) and an LLM degree from Columbia Law School in the US. As a specialist in equity and debt capital markets (IPOs, follow-ons and debt instruments) and M&A matters, he has served in major law firms across Brazil and was a foreign associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell.

Paula, Maiara and Luiz Felipe join Demarest with a team of six associates.

Together, they advise nearly 40 listed companies from different sectors of Brazil’s economy, such as finance, retail, education, foods, energy and infrastructure.
