Law No. 15,377/2026: employers now required to promote preventive health among employees

April 10th, 2026

Law No. 15,377/2026 was enacted on April 06, 2026, amending the Brazilian Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT) to impose new obligations on employers related to information and awareness on preventive health.

In summary, the new law requires companies to:

  • Publicize information on official vaccination campaigns, including guidance on human papillomavirus (HPV) and breast, cervical, and prostate cancers, in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health;
  • Guide employees on access to preventive examinations and diagnostic services available in Brazil’s public healthcare system;
  • Promote affirmative actions to raise awareness on the diseases mentioned above, ultimately helping integrate workplace and public preventive health policies; and
  • Inform employees of their right to paid medical leave to undergo preventive examinations for HPV and breast, cervical, and prostate cancers, pursuant to Article 473, item XII, of the CLT.

Law No. 15,377/2026 entered into force on its date of publication and does not depend on further regulation to produce effects.
